This gen is going to be known for 2 things:
- jelly time
- the succession of the tis (or ties, like the other presentation)
This generation is all about the upsell and fake frames at least with Nvidia.
Shame that AMD sounded like they weren’t going to try to complete in the 5080 space given what we’ve been shown.
Yep, that is why I referenced jelly time. From what I understood from most people out there, the latest exclusive to 5000 series frames gen feels like walking in gelatin, because it has that much smearing
It should be DOA but it’ll still sell out for the next couple of months. Think my 3080 will need to last 2 more years unless there is a 5080 ti that uses cut down 5090 dies.
I also have a 3080 and will try to snatch a 5090 tomorrow but I know I won’t be able to get one so yep, waiting for 6090 already pretty much.
Being based in New Zealand, the XX90 cards come with a significant markup and are wholly unaffordable. They’re priced at about 8% of the median pre-tax salary. I built an entire premium sim rig for less than the cost of a 4090.
