Since founding TerraPower in 2008, Bill Gates has had his eye on developing a safe, efficient, and clean next-gen nuclear plant. That project, called Natrium, has already broken ground in Wyoming and has just leaped over a critical hurdle.

      For nuclear power, is that not a huge accomplishment in of itself? Some permits can take years to get because of all the needless red tape

        Usually that phrasing in a news context is used for things like research breakthroughs or actual finished builds of prototypes or their first run, not just small, necessary steps to get to the point where you can start doing something actually related to technological progress.
