It’s always a blessing coming across a new owl in the wild. This Gray screech owl hopped around with some different backgrounds before heading off into the dark.

I tend to find screech owls a little less cute than some others. I think because they look more angular, which is probably partly because of their coloring (excellent camouflage). This little guy is adorable.

The Screeches that get photographed with this sharpness quality always look a little surreal to me, but in a good way. I think it makes them take on a more elegant quality. Like it almost looks superimposed to the image. Something shouldn’t stand out and blend in at the same time, but for me, it works.

And yeah, I like the juxtaposition when opposites intersect.
