Where I grew up people just had walk bridges and when it was too high you parked on the road side.
You don’t need a 200k drivable bridge for your own private use, if you have one then you can afford the flood insurance on it. Government should have much higher priorities than that guy.
But most of the people affected by that storm aren’t complaining about a 1/5th of a million dollar bridge.
Surely the invisible hand of the free market can fix these privately owned bridges.
At 200k they can just buy two new vehicles and leave each one on either side of the creek…

Why do they get tax money to build a private bridge? If they can’t afford a bridge for themselves, why not use a boat?
They voted for Trump despite everyone warning them things like this would happen. They just thought it wouldn’t happen to them. So I have 0 sympathy for those people. Let them enjoy the consequences of their actions
