Wonder how many fans will jump on the remaster, how many will keep playing the current version because of all their mods, and how many will do both.
I am more of a Morrowind type person. I will probably try the Oblivion remaster eventually (once they patch it up and maybe even once there is a GOTY edition).

Same. There’s a lot of RPGs where I’m not sure if it fits CRPG or JRPG better, but those are the only role-playing video game communities on Lemmy! Shame. I don’t want to be the person who creates a big unnecessary muni and I do prefer CRPGs to JRPGs, but I like RPGs in general. (!rpg tends to get used for tabletop roleplaying games) CRPG is indeed something different from “a roleplaying game you can play on the computer,” by the way, check this thread for more info.

I am not too concerned about exact definitions. I was more looking for a community where you can post about “PC-style” RPG games; without necessarily limiting the content exclusively to such games.
I am concerned with definitions, if only because I’d like to respect the boundaries communities set down for themselves. Don’t want to be posting “hey look at my knitting” in a car community, you know? Although I admit an RPG that might not be a CRPG in !crpg is less bad than putting your latest home renovation project in !crpg. And you probably saw in that thread I linked some mixed replies on what is allowed here anyways haha. And with game genres there’s probably always some things where two good faith participants who enjoy the genre can disagree on whether it belongs to that genre or not.
Funny thing is for many people it’s all the same thing from GTA to Baldur’s Gate.
At any rate this comm is half dead, I think at this point the priority should be rejuvenation.
