I’m making this because I still don’t think we know what’s gonna happen with BattleBots. I figured I’d show my appreciation for the final episode of season 7 because it was a banger (I’m gonna exclude the Golden Bolt, but that ended up being solid too; my focus is on the main tournament, no offense to GB winner End Game).
From the opening fight between Sawblaze and Minotaur to the final between Sawblaze and HUGE, as well as all the action in between (like the anticipation of who would flinch first in Hydra vs Ribbot and the chaos of Riptide vs Copperhead), this was an episode to remember and I’ll remember it for a very long time, possibly forever. It helps that we got a satisfactory champion in Sawblaze after all that team has done for the sport and what is no doubt the best finals match in BattleBots history (for the Discovery version anyway; the Biohazard vs Son of Whyachi fight during the Comedy Central days was a classic too). Watching Sawblaze and HUGE go back and forth was fun to watch and I would’ve been happy no matter who won, both bots are personal favorites of mine.
If this is truly it for BattleBots (I doubt it is, but you never know), I’m so glad it ended like this. If season 6 ended up being the end, that would’ve sucked given the controversy that final episode had (again, excluding Golden Bolt). So ending on a high note would be satisfying. Hopefully this isn’t the end, I want to see more destruction! I want to see match-ups like Tombstone vs HUGE, but if this is truly the end, I’m glad the final episode delivered.
