    About time, this was one of the things which led to the Scottish scheme being proposed. On a similar note, i wonder if we’ll see the same levels of resistance from certain sectors as we did in Scotland.

    So they opposed the very thing they tried to create? Can’t have labour taking the credit I guess!

      To be fair, a different party can change how the legislation is going to function which the other party could object to.

      Most extreme example being that the NHS was originally proposed by a Conservative health minister under Churchill, but was implemented with some changes by the Labour government. The Conservatives voted against it because they agree with the amendments to the original bill.
