Under the slogan “I build my dreams at Tecnológico Nacional”, 46 thousand students nationwide began classes in the 75 technical careers in 2025.
Nicaraguan technical education has taken giant steps in the last 18 years with the construction of 44 technical and technological centers and the expansion of one thousand percent in educational coverage; with these achievements, the year of technical careers in Nicaragua began.
The quantitative and qualitative leap in technical education in the Central American country is proven with 70 technical centers today; in 2006, before the Sandinista government, there were only 26. Today, more than 500 thousand students are attended annually, 18 years ago there were less than 50 thousand, and quality is the priority.
The 70% practical and 30% theoretical model implemented by the Tecnológico Nacional is also immersed in the National Creative Economy Strategy, which provides two opportunities for graduates: one for employability and the other for the creation of enterprises.
The study modalities are face-to-face and virtual, technical and technological education is reaching the countryside and the city; the academic offer covers the trade, service, hospitality, industrial, construction, agriculture and forestry sectors.
