I hear your and generally agree, but honestly the cost of a fridge conking out isn’t just the fridge, theres probably a bunch of food in there as well at risk, so maybe 2-3x repurchasing.

And literally every new washer dryer comes with free delivery and install.

Mapquest is likely using this same dataset and mixing it with what’s available in OSM, unless they have some reporting service.

Except it still relies on closed source indexes to do anything useful, and they are actively trying to block scrapers.

Kagi calls them lenses, and there’s a bunch. You can change the default by selecting the current one (in my case below, “Small Web”)

They’re fine in a pinch, they used to be a Google clone but in the past couple of years the quality has gone down and it seems they mostly source from Bing (though they dont provide statistics) (https://support.startpage.com/hc/en-us/articles/4522435533844-What-is-the-relationship-between-Startpage-and-your-search-partners-like-Google-and-Microsoft-Bing)
Since DDG also primarily uses Bing, it does not provide any added value to my searchflow, so I’m not sure what is required to block AI in private searches on Startpage.

Does this mean its output is good?

“It’s better than nothing” was true back when the alternative was to do nothing. Now there is no benefit to natural gas. It has no place in new buildings, and older buildings should be trying to remove it as quickly as possible.

They’re scummy crypto bros, but in my anecdotal testing, their search engine is more likely to turn up useful results than DDG.
They are, however, a fallback to the fallback in my search flow, so they get used like 1x/year. There would be little benefit to searching another Bing clone after DDG, and I have no interest in searching Google, so this is where I’ve landed.
Would be happy to expand the list if you have suggestions for search engines, and the associated codes for blocking AI summaries in private searches.

These are the ones I use (Kagi needs to be logged in, but you could use Privacy Pass with their extension for anonymous searching - I haven’t tested if it needs any extra configuration to block AI with Privacy Pass)
Name: Kagi
URL: <Copy Session Link from a logged in window>
Keyword: @k
Suggestion Url: https://kagisuggest.com/api/autosuggest?q=%25s
Name: DuckDuckGo.noai
URL: https://noai.duckduckgo.com/?start=1&q=%25s
Keyword: @d
Suggestion URL: https://ac.duckduckgo.com/ac/?type=list&q=%25s
Name: Brave.noai
URL: https://search.brave.com/search?summary=0&q=%25s
Keyword: @b
Suggestion URL: https://search.brave.com/api/suggest?q=%25s
The start=1 parameter on DDG keeps it from doing the first run popups when searching in private windows.
Also, I haven’t tried but you can theoretically mix and match suggest URLs with different search engines if you wanted to somehow decouple search suggestions from actual searches.
Edit: on second thought, that’s effectively just doubling the number of entities who know what you’re searching for. I see no privacy benefit to decoupling. Perhaps something to do if one engine’s suggestions are pure trash.

There were dozens split during the first few years of AA/ACP rollout, but that was like 2015-ish. Haven’t seen a car locked to just one in ages.

$500000000 says they gave Claude a list of names which may or may not even be registered voters, and asked it to identify the non-citizens, and it just spat back a new list of names that they’re now sharing broadly as somehow proof of fraud.

Sister’s memories had been rewritten when she returned, implying there’s some sort of continuity tether in the timeline. Who knows what would happen to (at minimum) the memories of a child who no longer exists.
Plus, I think you underestimate how unbelievably creepy it would be to show up to your house and introduce your wife to the strange kid you “just found?”… Like, immediate 999 (they’re in the UK) and divorce.

And no Republican has ever voted against their own interests to own the libs of what the fuck ever they’re after.

Assume they’re all voting against you and get out there

Honestly, I dont see how this is anything but good for them. Its a COD game, I’m betting <1% of their sales are folks who just want to play the campaign. Being pirated is like releasing single player as a demo to entice people to buy multiplayer.

My wife is looking to switch to an EV, so we went to a few dealerships to check a few out.
Most had a couple of models on the lot, but the sales people were very poorly versed in how they work. Couldn’t answer pretty basic questions like “what kind of charger does it need?”, one guy tried to hype up their service package with free oil changes.
A few dealerships didn’t even have the cars on the lot. Subaru, VW, Audi, and BMW/Mini all were missing EV models, but had tons of gas cars available. We wanted to test drive the Mini and the rep offered to let us drive the gas version instead like they would somehow handle even remotely close to the same. Overall it was a pretty frustrating experience.

I could be wrong, but this appears to be a hallucination, not repeating information. I can’t comprehend how this could be anything other than a massive liability for Google.

Honestly? Meta is shit, but I am not on any socials other than Lemmy so I didn’t even know these protests were happening until Meta Streisand’d it up.
Did somebody say weevils?
