It could also be said that this is to protect them against military forces while that is being worked out. Lesser of two evils and all that. Better to be arrested locally than shot

Not sure if this is allowed. I don’t see any actual news articles on this.
I’ve seen government releases allowed in the past, but I don’t recall any recently / from the current administration. This isn’t really an article/official press release, so I’m inclined to say “no” but will defer to the other mods.

The first half of it is fine, but the second half crosses into editorializing (even though part of it is in the description). It also looks like the source updated the headline from what shows in the embed title.
Can you please fix the title to either:
- NYPD detective on Adams’ security detail may be tied to crypto millionaire torture case: Sources (headline on article)
- Crypto millionaire torture investigation takes shocking turn (headline in embed description)
Thanks.

It’s gotten a fancier-looking UI but the mechanics of it are exactly the same as it’s always been. I think the only difference between then and now is the text used to be limited to 50 characters and it’s 500 now.
Nothing wrong with this post, it’s just a duplicate of https://lemmy.world/post/31367385 which is the same story/source and posted within the last hour.
