You can keep that power. I have the power to nut whenever I want.
Happy cake day!
Joining local, small scale gatherings without the explicit goal of getting a date does a few things. For one it makes you more sociable which will help you be attractive in the long run. For another it helps you meet people. For a third, you’ll have fun doing it. All those things develop you as a person which in the long run improve your odds of happiness, and it’s much easier to date a happy, well developed, sociable person than a miserable incel. And you’ll do it without Silicon Valley’s perverse incentives!
Instructions unclear, went insane
This is the result of handing dating life off to the capitalist class that uses it to enrich itself. Go to a neighborhood potluck or volunteer somewhere to meet people without prejudice. If it doesn’t land you a date then at least you’ll have fun or do something good.

1·3 days agoSame, ran FOG for a long time, but setting it up appropriately and for others to use on a corporate R&D network I did not have full control over was fiddly.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Trying to find a good watch for workouts and everyday use
4·3 days agoA lot of smart watches require some form of cloud API through a major mobile OS, and I can’t think of any that don’t. Direct local sync is possible with Gadgetbridge though.
There’s also this guy who modded the ubiquitous cult classic Casio F91W: https://n-o-d-e.net/datarunner.html
Personally I like the Apple Watch, I have the LTE model because I like to leave my distraction rectangle at home when I can and still be available for calls. I do have a few Casio’s as well though, an A168 which is basically an F91W clad in metal and with a better back light, and also a Casio CA53W, the calculator wrist watch.

politics @lemmy.world•Trump accused of raping former Miss Switzerland in Democrats’ Epstein report
1531·4 days agoThe White House has strongly denied all of the reports’ claims, accusing “crazed” Democrats of “a desperate attempt to distract Americans” and insisting that the president has been “fully exonerated of anything related to Epstein.”
Funny, the White House started a whole ass war to distract from the Epstein files. Projection at it’s finest.

Order of operations is incorrect at runtime, they would have failed computer science and ended up flipping burgers anyway.

10·6 days agoTrue, and for most things you get a choice, in contrast to Windows/MacOS. But if the kernel itself slides down this path there’s not a lot you can do unless you’re willing to sacrifice enormous amounts of time and effort.
I’m kind of done with this passion, I’ll be investing more of my time into yard maintenance and my boat.
