New XMPP Bridge to Lemmy Matrix Room

For those that are using #XMPP, I’ve created a Lemmy chat room at lemmy@muc.do.nohost.me which bridges to the Lemmy Matrix room…

A site to help newcomers more easily onboard to XMPP… Along the lines of joinmastodon or joinpeertube…


You could look at https://tinylist.app/, which allows for self hosting… But it is pretty basic atm.

I don’t mind paying for the extensions as it supports the opensource project (they provide the basics for free)…


I can vouch that the extensions work on the self hosted setup. (Got the Holiday special)


The encrypted note taking app Standard Notes, is now available as an install on the self hosting platform #Yunohost. …

It’s one of the only reasons I keep an account on things like Twitter - basically to advocate for the fediverse, and apps like Lemmy, Peertube, Pleroma etc…


The inertia of using the ‘mainstream’ platforms will be one of the hardest things to overcome… If all your friends and family are on platform X, and they’re not coming to platform Y with you… well, it could be a rather boring experience… at least at first…
