You can’t expect the entire system to change on the day someone is elected. It takes time for new policies to percolate through the system, and for their effects to grow to a point where they actually start to make a difference.
That takes time, and Mamdani is only closing in on his first year, and his first year has been far more successful than any other new mayor I’ve ever heard of. He’s certainly done a better job than any other NYC mayor in my lifetime.

Eh, from what little I understand, it seems the DSA (political group he is part of), has Dual Power as part of its mode of operation, so I don’t think he is as bad as you’re saying.
Mamdani has shown that if people in power actually give a shit, they can make a difference.
