    I don’t know a single person that takes their batteries to be recycled though

      I’m in PEI and most grocery stores have a battery recycle bin.

      We don’t use many non-recharge batteries, but we drop whatever dies in the bin.

      More of an education problem. Which won’t really be fixed by this… Right like I don’t know anyone who is going to pay extra for these batteries for something they already don’t care about.

      Depends on where you live… Like in Mississauga this is a non-starter due to local programs. I think it has a better chance of targeting rich Americans that don’t have these local recycling programs and are more susceptible to paying to greenwash.

      Our apartment building has a bucket in the lobby for old batteries. Those go to the recycling place every year or whenever anyone is going that way.
