Even the former peaceful Costa Rica is now building a mega prison, and inviting US meddling in the affairs of public security.

The US getting involved I don’t think has ever brought more peace to a latin american country.

Gotta secure the region now that staying the global hegemon seems more and more like an impossibility. One day, insha’Allah, Western imperialism will be nothing but a really bad collective memory.

Trump knows those cartels have zillion$, and he wants to get his beak wet. He will trade pardons for payments.

It’s my personal theory that the US is going to back a bunch of cartel operations to take over the governments of countries in Latam that don’t support them. But first they’ll go in and kill the cartels leaders and get puppets in charge of them. Then they do some coups and put those people in as viceroys over the entire country with the cartel as their power base.

in argentina in santa fe, rosario (where messi was born) there’s been a huge increase in the narcos. this is the worst place since it’s a port city so there’s a lot of movement and shit, and while it’s not in levels like mexico or colombia we’ve definitely seen them get way bigger. it was nothing like this 20 years ago. drug addiction is way worse too, i see people pipeing crack everywhere. before when you snorted you could maybe do 10g in a crazy night, with the pipe you can smoke that in way less. you just cant get enough of it. last year there was contaminated fentanyl that killed almost 200 people. where you reckon those came from?

That’s way too complicated for these Apes. There is no way that Trump could sit through that pitch, in order to greenlight it.

That’s not how the US works. Some career dude comes up with the big plan and pitches it to the president in pieces. Like “Let’s bomb this thing.” “Let’s sanction this guy.” and so on. That is why who the president is has no effect on US foreign policy. They just sign the papers.

That’s not exactly breakthrough news the US has been running fairly large scale counter narcotics missions down there since Trump.
