Just an edit of another meme I posted. It’s still imperialism even if it’s with Chinese characteristics :3

US is often portrayed as the boogyman

Imperalism is the occupation of tibet, Xinjiang is not just the modern uyghur history, but centuries of conflict. There is also the occupation of mongolian regions, korean so forth.

Edit: to clarify, it’s saying often that any revolution is a “colour revolution” i.e. a cia plot and therefore dismissing any real reason it happens is one of the many ways the US is the reason, while dismissing any real concerns. I’m not saying china worse, I’m just saying that it doesn’t matter which one is worse ☺️

That makes sense. The people who are the most vocal about their support for China (online, anyway) tend to refuse to criticize China at all, even when it’s deserved.

I am particularly disgusted with the US and our monstrous actions everywhere so I’m sure I’m at least a little biased about this. Comparing Chinese and American imperialism in the current year will inevitably feel like downplaying American atrocities to a lot of people. It feels like my government is a serial killer.

oh absolutely - the US is currently going into fascism (even apparently raiding voting ballots now), actively supporting the zionist nazi regime, bombing the hell out of schools and hospitals in Iran, general middle east destruction (as they have done the last 50 or so years), weirdly also supporting the authoritarian russian regime?, doing the whole ICE thing with concentration camps

the list is long, and also widely available and talked about.
