I bought a raspberry pi 5 when it came out. I’ve never managed to boot it. Sad, isn’t it?

When I launch the raspberry without USB storage or SD card, I get this information.

As soon as I connect something, be it USB storage or SD card with any system (raspbian, debian bookworm, home assistant, anything!) the menu doesn’t even appear any more, and all I get is: a black screen / or nothing, as you like.

Help!

Does the actual board show sign of life when you turn it on (to try and understand if maybes it’s the power supply)?

Do you have another power supply/cord to test it with?

The menu did appear before though?

Maybe worth getting a replacement if it’s under warranty?

Do you have another power supply/cord to test it with? Yes, tested with several The menu did appear before, though? When a drive is connected, no, the menu doesn’t appear, I can run the raspberry without connecting anything, and then plugin in the drive, the menu appears, some logs (no errors) appear saying gonna run os, and then black screen

This honestly sounds like an issue with the SBC itself.

Unfortunately, it can difficult to triage the exact cause.

Perhaps someone else can chime in (I am still on Raspberry Pi 4B).
