the real problem for me with the 5/5 wasn’t that I couldn’t handle the spice. The spice was amazing, and actually added to the flavor, unlike many. What was the issue was how long it took to eat it because you have to manage how much you have in your mouth so it doesn’t overwhelm you. Luckily my buddy wasn’t closely watched for his ‘hour long’ lunch break.
I used to go to a Thai place whose 5/5 was listed as “for Thai natives and people with no pain receptors only”. 2/5 was more than enough fir me.
