    Honestly this is so disappointing. Not exactly surprising: any time the LNP makes a good decision it’s surprising, but still disappointing.

    They’re seriously talking about giving up on the Sunshine Coast rail extension. About doing yet another study into extending the G:Link (despite the tram having been an enormous success already, and previous studies coming up in favour of an extension). As if it wasn’t bad enough that the local council had already given up on a light rail on the Sunshine Coast. And there are calls for selling off the dedicated rail corridor to developers. Urgh. Why do projects that would actually help ease congestion and improve people’s well-being always face such intense scrutiny, while Yet Another Highway Expansion always goes through with little more than a rubber stamp‽

      Boggles the mind. You would think getting vehicles off the road would be a priority, it would cost less in the long run due to less road maintenance, lower chances of accidents, etc.

      I think that is stupid answer here. Why spend money now to save it later, when we could keep money now and spend more later…wait.
