Premier Doug Ford has agreed to suspend the 25 per cent surcharge on the electricity Ontario sends to the U.S. after Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick offered an 'olive branch' and invited him to a meeting in Washington on Thursday.
When I saw it on CPAC I thought he should have kept the surcharge on until after the meeting, but understood why he removed it. He was being extended an “olive branch” he did not want to push away. Then however I saw some US broadcasters talking about it and I thought he holds the card, he should keep it surcharged and make them come up rather than him going down for a shake down.
