I might actually relapse that day- not fully, just with a glass or two of champagne. I think that’s a celebration worthy of a drink despite the eight years of sobriety.
Cheers mate, thank you. I definitely enjoy those options from time to time and will likely stick with them. I don’t think I could sacrifice the best thing I’ve ever done for myself, even in celebration of the planet being a bit lighter.
Nah, man, ain’t nothing worth relapsing. My brother is a drunk, and has never tried to seriously get sober to my knowledge. If he ever did, I wouldn’t encourage him to drink under any circumstances. It’s a slippery slope for people who have a problem with alcohol.
He’s really not worth it… and that’s coming from another who understands the good fight.
Maybe another cheap(ish) thrill of a lottery ticket? Or get your adrenalin going another way, such as with a bike ride, or a bush walk 🤷♂️ just thinking out loud, hopefully that’s okay.

There are good sparkling NA options so you can have a special, celebratory drink without breaking the streak. Also, congrats on 8 years!
