Nimbys cant control other housing builds anymore in Washington state. The legislature passed a law banning single family zoning, allowing duplex everywhere and and fourplexs nearly everywhere. Also, zoning within 1.5 miles of its huge light rail push are automatically allowed to go up to 6 stories. We also have a new ADU law state wide.
