Idk, I see people say “this is humanity, not evil,” but it seems to me humanity can be evil, divine, and everything in between, based on actions.
I find the it grating whenever westerners say “humanity is so cruel” or “humanity deserves the worst for what it’s done to the earth,” for example. No, this is not “humanity” the source of these crimes against humanity and against the earth is not the primal moral charecter of human beings. The source of theses ills are, especially at this current moment, the logic of capital. It’s the logic of endless infectious growth, along with the conversion of all sectors of our soceity to spread this virus known as capital.
This logic pulls the strings of every modern atrocity, and it’s home, at this moment, is the imperial core, specifically, the United States. It is not the nature of “humanity” but of humanity dictated by the unconscious whims of capital.
To condemn all of humanity for the crimes perpetuated by and in the interest of, a certain outcrop of humanity (the western world), is just imperialist chauvinism attributing their own actions to the universal human tendency.
Yes, throughout history, cruelty has existed, but it’s been due to the dictates of former politcal-economic systems governing soceity. In each case, it was thr crimes committed by certain classes for the express purpose of suppressing other classes and maintaining the benifets for those ruling classes brought about by their societies political-economies.
Humanity is driven by the logic of those systems, and currently it’s capitlism that is hedghemonic. And capital has avatars from which it expresses itself in our world. Those vessels of capital have names and places in this world, and they largely reside in the imperial core.

I don’t disagree. If someone says, “this is/isn’t who I am,” but actions say otherwise, well, actions speak louder than words. But it’s always been capital that is the driving force and motivation, anything else is distraction and coverup. And the capital holders are also extremely skilled in throwing bricks and hiding hands, so there’s that.
And when the poors side with capital, it seems to be loss aversion, even and especially if they’re already losing a lot. At least that’s what I seem to see. Can I get a reality check?

‘You will become our enemy’: Iran urges all nations against joining US economic war
The warning follows a new US Treasury Department declaration threatening the ‘toughest sanctions in history’ against Iran
❗️Syria & Israel hold US-mediated talks in Jordan
Syria and Israel held high-level, US-mediated talks in Jordan on Sunday aimed at reducing tensions following recent Israeli strikes on Syrian territory, Syria’s state news agency SANA reported, citing a diplomatic source at the Foreign Ministry.
According to SANA, the discussions focused on practical measures to stop Israeli strikes, arrests and targeted operations, while also seeking to revive negotiations on a security agreement that could serve as a foundation for a broader future deal.
The talks also addressed efforts to reduce tensions between Israel and Turkiye.
—❗️🇮🇷/🇵🇰/🇹🇷/🇸🇦 NEW: Mehdi Rahimi, the head of Iranian Parliament’s news agency, tells Al-Mayadeen that Iran has received an invitation to join the Mecca Defense Pact

MES is skeptical about this but personally I think it’s possible, if improbable.
Is it some trap for Iran or is this pact really trying to become something serious (a possible replacement for USA in West Asia)?
I think it might actually be a move towards some level of autonomy without the US, as they’ve shown themselves to be unreliable. I actually got a breif article from The Cradle that goes into a little more detail:
Iran ‘reviewing invitation’ to join Mecca Joint Defense Agreement: Report
The Mecca Agreement was signed earlier this month by Turkiye, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan, with all three countries vowing to defend each other
I don’t trust the Saudis.
Same, but I do have to admit that they are relatively pragmatic in their political calculations.
Frankly, I trust Türkiye the least, but I’m obviously biased due to Syria. Regardless, Iran has been calling for comprehensive regional agreements devoid of any influence from Washington for decades.
If they see benifet in this, then I’ll hold my tongue until more info is revealed.

That’s reasonable, sentiment notwithstanding.
Regardless, Iran has been calling for comprehensive regional agreements devoid of any influence from Washington for decades.
I feel (not think) that if Iran could rid itself of the Great and Lesser Satans, the entire global picture will dramatically shift. And that may be happening, due to the accelerated ambitions of the current US regime.
