I think this is a good time to use the term “controlled opposition”. Because articles like this point at problems that are real, almost get there to elucidating something meaningful, and then beeline into red/blue bougie electoralism. They make it seem as if these are problems that are unique to the republicans and thus can be solved by Vote Blue No Matter Who. They’ve been beating that drum since… I think since after Obama probably, since everybody after him has either been horribly unappealing or actually mildly reformist and scared the capitalists (Bernie). So far, it doesn’t seem to have produced anything other than cementing Trumpian conservatives as the majority ruling party. But don’t worry, Charlie Brown, Lucy totally won’t yank the football out at the last second this time. It’s different this time, you see. Things are worse than before, so blindly voting blue will reverse the trend even though it hasn’t yet and the trend only becomes more entrenched over time. But surely this time. The mythical democracy that never was has to be saved. That’s why we (who are Yankees) pledge allegiance to the flag, right. Gotta save those symbols. Now the people themselves? Psh, they’re statistics. Look, they’ll show up as slightly better stats if you just blue hard enough.

Hopefully, after the Democrats take control next year, Congress will investigate these incidents, demand transparency, enforce meaningful accountability, and confront the monopolistic power these companies hold.

    Lol. Lmao, even.

I love when articles like this tack on a half-hearted genuflection to electoralism at the end that’s just a bowl of lib word salad. It fr feels like when you hastily crap out a concluding paragraph on a paper that’s due tomorrow.

I see the libs are still on the Russiagate thing. Somebody needs to tell them, 2016 was ten years ago. It’s time to move on.
