Essentially title. I listened to the Korea season and will listen to everything else they produced, but was wondering if this is a one of a kind show or is there anything similar? I already listen to RevLeft.
I haven’t listened to it, but Madeline Pendleton has one called “Pick Me Up, I’m Scared” that seems to be similar.
Seconded. Came here to recc it. Super informative and easy to understand, the Ukraine series is a great way to understand how we got here.
Yes, she’s great. A fast talker, but provides a ton of information.
Prolespod did a simiar series to Blowback called the Stalin eras, check it out
they also just do regular episodes
Depends how you define “similar” I suppose, but there’s this podcast aiming to cover the whole history of the Soviet Union from start to finish from socialist perspective.
I LOVE this one. Looking for a podcast like this about other AES countries like China.
was looking for a soviet union history podcast for a long time, great that this is still ongoing, thanks for sharing
honestly, no. there is no podcast imo that reaches their high level of production and narrative quality
Ghost Stories for the End of the World has some very detailed and long series on a bunch of subjects that weave in and out of parapolitical history. He’s no stranger to really crazy conspiracies, both real and imagined, and is always good at being very explicit when he’s wandering off the documented path into the land of myth and monsters. The Octopus Conspiracy, the mafia, Opus Dei, Project Gladio networks of many varieties, and some good old-fashioned stuff that makes your head hurt like Jared Leto’s extensive CIA connections and bizarre cult.
He does have a more Lynchian theatrical style that some don’t like. Personally I love it. If you’re interested I’d recommend checking out the episode “These Dreams of Menwith Hill”. It’s truly mind boggling how good that episode is, it almost feels degrading to call it just a podcast episode.
