    Actually, it was Rishi Sunak, who ‘convinced’ Selenskyi to stop negotiations in 2022, who caused the terrible situation. There’s no way back to the offers of the Russian gov at that time.

        In German language an “s” followed by a vowel is pronounced as /z/. The official German way of writing Zelenskyj’s name is indeed Wolodymyr Selenskyj.

        Otherwise, no idea what the deleted comment was saying. Germany’s leftists have a very pro-Russian (and thereby pro-fascist, which is weird!) subculture, so I have my guesses, though.

            Also, some are children of people who were indoctrinated to think that Soviet Union is/was a friend and only ever wanted peace and nothing more.

            The bad things the Russia is doing now are a continuation of what it has been doing for a century. Accepting that they are in the wrong now would require accepting that they’ve done bad things before. That’s a lot of work, so the mind protects itself from all that thinking.
