Explanation: The Roman Emperor Aurelian was known as RESTITVTOR ORBIS, ‘The Restorer of the World’, because he reunited the Roman Empire after it had been split by two major separatist factions (the so-called ‘Gallic Empire’ and Palymria, a former vassal in the east). Aurelian was also an ardent anti-corruption campaigner, and his personal secretary, fearing that his own corruption would be found out, formed a conspiracy which led to Aurelian’s assassination.
