Former Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan told Texas Monthly that Republicans focused too much on culture war issues this election cycle and are paying the price. “We’re just not paying attention to the issues that matter,” he said.
They’re not trying to invoke the boogyman of the transgender woman quietly using the restroom, they’re trying to invoke the fear of a man hiding in plain sight in the restroom ready to rape your children the second they’re alone with the child.
