I don’t know why you’re looking to argue about it but I’m not interested. I simply stated that where I live 100k a year would take you so much further than it does in the US.

it took you 5 posts to tell us you’re not in the US. it’s simply impossible to interpret your takes without context. you’d need twice as much money in the US to have a comparable lifestyle.

        My problem?

…and I live in Denmark (or some other country where people don’t default on medical debt).

        This thread is wild.

I assumed it would be obvious from my first post that I don’t live in the US when I mentioned living comfortably on 35k a year in a thread about needing 100k to be considered middle class in the US. Clearly, it wasn’t obvious, so I clarified it in my third reply (not the fifth, as you claimed), four hours before your first message to me. Do you want me to apologize for not anticipating this potential confusion from the start, or what exactly are you after here? How about just saying, “Sorry, I missed your message where you said you live in the EU”?

It’s all good, your third reply was actually the 14th post on the very bottom of this pile, sorry that we wasted each other’s time. Unfortunately there is nothing new about the fact that people living in functioning social democracies surrounded by wealthy neighbors can actually downsize without risking their children’s education, or healthcare.
