    I’m remembering so many conversations I had online with some wingers who would claim that we (USA) had to support Israel “no matter what”.

    I’d ask them, really, no matter what they do?

    And they’d say yes.

    Which is just so fucking crazy. I would not say that even about my own flesh and blood. There are hypotheticals even in that scenario where you’d disown even your own mother.

    But wingers apparently think we need to support Israel “no matter what”. Most of them seem to be the religiously-addled, specifically xtians that are down for the xtian Zionism and stupid “Left Behind” retcon.

      1. Conservatives believe in rigid hierarchies in families, in communities, and in faith. It’s not their place to question and go against what their betters ordain.
      2. Stupid people are simply incapable of considering hypotheticals. They do not seriously consider the implications of “no matter what.”

      Because they delusionally think Israel’s existence is a precondition for the Rapture. Their “support” is entirely self-serving.
