Didn’t know there was an update until you mentioned it. Looks like they’re getting rid of the chest system? I don’t see anything in itsplace right now, but it sounds like the way it works. Is by playing if you earn a chest, it will just be opened?
They removed the chests as rewards after winning a battle, now you get lucky drops for the first 3 wins, and some cards and gold until 10th victory and only crowns from there.
Also removed the daily quest, that gave us 4 lucky drops per day, so basically they removed chests and one lucky drop per day.
The season shop and banner shop (and their tokens) were removed, that’s a good thing because less currencies is simpler and supposedly distributed the rewards in other things (this remains to be seen).
They nerfed the passes (free and paid) and lucky drops chances.
It’s an overall nerf of 50% on the progression according to royaleapi.com

Woooooow yeah, what gives? Maybe they are setting up to introduce new forms of paid rewards? Or maybe yeah enshittify and widen the gap between P2W and free players
It seems they’re nerfing even the paid pass so a very shitty move by them. I needed an excuse to quit and they provided, so I’ve just uninstalled it.
Honestly for the better. The game is just a distraction and your energy can be better put to use on things that move you forward
