This is a serious question, please don’t be racist. Since Chinese tourists (and British in Eastern Europe) are universally hated and no one has anything positive to say about it, it makes me very sad. I have friends from the mainland that behave properly and knows how to follow rules. It’s sad to see people generalize an entire large nation as uncivilized, so does anyone have any positive or neutral experiences with them?
Ive not noticed that at all. In my experience, Russians are absolute shitheels when abroad. Americans aren’t much better. Most Asian tourists are super rude by Western standards of behavior. Europeans are mostly fine unless theyre very old or visiting the US.
Is Asian tourists only Chinese ones? I heard that Japanese tourists are very polite
It is not always feasible to differentiate. I only know a dozen or so Japanese or Korean words. Fewer Chinese. Some of the rudest people Ive seen in public were probably Chinese tourists in Myanmar, but I only had my guide’s word on their nationality. IMO, Japanese are usually much more polite in small numbers. By the busloads, less so. I cant reliably tell Chinese from Korean without hearing them speak a bit.
More, though, I just feel like cultural norms like personal space are just very different in Asia in general, so I find it strange.
Another one that has gotten me is that Eastern Europe doesnt smile in public. They literally think you’re mentally ill if you smile like an idiot in public.
