Personally, I don’t care if someone thinks I’m doing it to virtue signal; I’m going to eat meat alternatives when they taste as good as meat, and Impossible meat does taste as good as meat. Reducing our overall meat consumption as a society is a good thing.
I tend to think things like toxic masculinity and fear of empathy do far more to make rednecks proud of eating meat. Though, the mere presence of someone who does not eat meat for moral reasons is unbearably aggravating for many people.
