The U.S. government has submitted a two-page memo from Rubio as its main evidence in its deportation case against Columbia activist Mahmoud Khalili. The memo obtained by AP does not allege criminal conduct by Khalil.

    In the pre-Trump era, did the US government claim power to deport people for their beliefs? All I’m remembering is the BS war on terror, but I thought they had to prove financial or material supported for some alleged bad guys?
