So, we did get a post yesterday from our first spammer (that I know of?), but it looks like the Lemmy.World admins banned their account a short time after. Most likely for spamming other communities.

Besides that, there wasn’t anyone that posted/commented yesterday (that hasn’t already received Lemmy Silver from me). So we get another roll among our previous posters for the year. Order is the same as before, based on recent activity in this community:

  1. Agent_Karyo
  2. Sandbar_Trekker
  3. Jax
  4. Halfwaythere
  5. Deepthought42
  6. Starcitizenfan

Results: 3 (Jax)

Congratulations to @Jax@sh.itjust.works! I’ll add some Lemmy Silver to your previous post.

Yeah, I don’t recommend browsing through it. At least not unless you create an account and block/hide the News & Politics category (at minimum).

If you have a better suggestion (besides YouTube), I’m all ears.

Peertube seems to be a good option. Just find and instance that accepts registrations and upload videos there.

Have you uploaded any videos to any peertube instances before?

I see about 25 open instances that show up under gaming. The ones that stand out to me only seem to have 1 or 2 users actually posting videos.

One of the instances was throwing errors (too many requests) but at least the videos were playing.

I sent out an application to one so we’ll see if it gets approved. I’ll give it a day or so and then try signing up for a different instance if that doesn’t work out.

Do these instances stay up long, or do they die off quickly like some of the smaller Lemmy instances?
