And generally how many pounds of makeup does it take for most women to look worthy of a look? Geez

        A few things:

        • Do you know what “screeching” means? It doesn’t mean “state well-reasoned arguments with mostly lowercase letters.”

        • Screeching is useful, and is enjoyed by a wide variety of people, including retail employees, library disturbers, theater ejectees, and other people.

        • I worry that by accusing everyone of “screeching,” as you put it, that you have a habit of casting autistic and neurodivergent people in a bad light. Accusing everyone who makes a reply at you of “screeching” is really weird.

        • I bet you actually screech. I tap silently on my phone while listening to good music. It’s a wonderful vibe.

Sigh, one photo is a publicity photo with good lighting, where she is prepared and ready for the shoot, the other is a terrible photo, shit lighting, super low resolution, where she was unprepared or simply did not want her photo being taken.

The images are so different that I can’t tell if it is the same person in both photographs.

The makeup isn’t even in the top 20 differences between the photos.

You can make zero judgement on the impact of makeup based on these photos

Honestly the two photos are fairly similar.

Also I find is disturbing that people feel a need to shame others for not being the perfect woman

Yeah it’s mind boggling that some people would need to shame others for not meeting some arbitrary personal standards.

It’s also such a ridiculous example too. Sometimes people do hide a lot of imperfections with makeup to a point in which you can’t recognize them anymore - but this isn’t the case. The photo on the right has a woman with perfectly healthy looking skin without makeup. She’s frowning because the sunlight is hitting her right in the face and perhaps because she didn’t consent to this picture being taken. Her hair is matted and backswept because she’s been swimming. The photo quality is also much blurrier and it didn’t have any kind of post treatment such as white balance to remove the blue light cast on her face. As for everything else, it’s identical.

It’s like a post saying look at how beta Superman looks while on his day job. Some dude wearing glasses and combing his hair the other way, you say? Not worthy of a look

I mean, if you’re gonna sit there and say “oho, I’ve discovered what a random woman looks like without makeup,” well, clothes are also a disguise to the human form. So are names, pronouns, jobs, hobbies, characters, personalities, and other identifiers. May as well just go look at corpses.

The modifications that humans make to themselves over their lives makes them beautiful.

I’m sure you’ve modified yourself in some way, probably as many as anyone else.

Don’t judge someone for a particular modification. I don’t just stand there in front of you in a grocery store, hold up a nude picture of you, and say “oh, this is what you really look like!”

Let people present themselves in the way they’re most comfortable.

It’s in the content of the post. You’re arguing that there’s a woman who looks more authentic without makeup, and you’re arguing that there’s an implication that she usually presents with makeup, and that makeup causes someone to look false.

This is your post, my sealioning buddy.

I understood this with rudimentary critical thinking and the ability to draw relationships between separate ideas. It’s all taught in school.

I don’t know what else you want me to say.

I’m not “arguing” anything. You are ASSUMING that I’m arguing. I’m just posting a funny observation. If you can’t laugh at the silly weirdness of human life without getting riled up and thinking it’s some kind of a school debate for you to get on your soapbox, it’s on you. You are assuming intentions and projecting your own insecurities on me.

I take issue to the fact you find this funny. The very nature of it seems a awful lot like sexism. Sorry some random celebrity doesn’t constantly try to please men with there appearance. She can dress however she wants. It is her body in the end.

Anyway. I’m gonna go be gay with my wife, and she’s agreed to wear more makeup than usual too.

Your dumb little post decrying makeup has actually resulted in a net increase of makeup.
