Do the markings on a sight tape stay exacty linear with all bows? Eg: if 20m and 30m is exactly 10mm apart, will 50m and 60m also be 10mm apart? I have to make my own sight tape, so I was wondering if this logic holds. I manually sighted in from 20 to 50, and mine seems to be spaced 7mm apart all the way to 50.

I will preface this with the fact that I know very little about this topic, but physics would say: No.

The reason programs have you put in a 20 and 60 yard measurement (example) and then spit out a site tape plan based on bow speed is because they use a calculation to factor in the speed of the arrow at those distances to figure out speed at other distances and adjust the points accordingly.

To be clear, this is just from me reading, not from experience. This post on Archery Talk covers this well, but that whole thread is pretty good: https://www.archerytalk.com/posts/1099554585/
