To me it’s the best of Europe … in the winter it’s the warmest place in Europe, especially on the Mediterranean side … things aren’t too expensive and the people are nice. Plus you can fly out from there to visit every part of Europe for cheap and even visit Morocco if want.
We spent about 6 or 7 winters there years ago in Malaga, and throughout Andalusia and three times we got to stay in Malaga during Holy Week and it was amazing. It was neat to see the changes over the years. We saw it just before they changed over to the Euro and things were a lot more rustic and rough around the edges. Now they’ve cleaned everything up to make it look a little Disneyesque but it’s still a beautiful city.
