If your lights are too bright that’s a genuine problem. Replace them. Call it a defect and make the dealer or manufacturer do it if you can. Otherwise, pay for it yourself, I don’t care, just fucking fix it so you’re not a hazard to everyone else.

The reason we’re in this stupid goddamn situation in the first place is no one taking responsibility for endangering others.

Except they’re not, they’re fine. Except in specific situations where the lights are naturally pointed into someone else’s windshield and they think I’ve got the high beams on. I thought I wrote that but it may not have been clear.

I accept. I grew up on headlights that were definitely dim by comparison, and so modern headlights for sure are bright. I think angle is the important thing. In 85% of situations it’s perfect, but sometimes the road pulls them up into other vehicles’ windshields.

I know Mercedes had some technology to basically shut off that part of the light, so as to never blind other drivers. IIRC it was made illegal in the US.

I mean what do you call a driver who can only stay in his lane 85% of the time??

Bulbs are like $20 bucks max, just change them out it’s probably the easiest thing to do a vehicle, even changing the oil is a little bit more effort.

The bulbs are much more expensive than that, but I think what’s worth approaching is adjusting the point of the headlights. Like I said, from my point of view, they’re generally aimed at license plates and below of the cars in front of me, but it can’t hurt to adjust and see how/if it helps.

Yeah the really bright ones are super expensive, you get the regular ones that don’t blind other drivers it’s pretty cheap, $20 if you have a big pickup truck or something on sedans they’re even cheaper

        they’re not fine

I’m familiar with modern Subarus. the headlights are blinding. your own experience shows you this.

when I flash you, it’s not because I think you have your high beams on. I do not give a fuck what type of headlight you have on, I can’t see
