I have a couple of those. For my money the Chromecast TV is pretty equivalent. But they are solid little systems. I don’t take advantage of any of the gaming capability. Mostly just streaming. But I’ve had one since 2015 and still use it to this day everyday so it’s a pretty solid little device
Depending upon your tv. Definitely. A lot of the smart TV soc’s are barely functional. My mother got a TLC television with Google TV built in. And it is there, it does function. Painfully. It’s super slow and janky. Things are located in weird places on settings etc. We ended up just getting her another $50 Chromecast TV dongle. It works smooth quick and easy. Not in the least underpowered compared to what was included with the television. And the Nvidia Shield TV despite being as old as it is. Still flies
I enjoy it a bit. But I lived most of it '70s 80s and 90s Etc. Every once in awhile I will break it out for a small dinner nostalgia. But then I’ll remember I got about 500 games I haven’t paid on my Steam account and about 700 through Prime. That and that I’ve generally only played two or three games much in the last few years anyway.
Roughly 15 years of world of warcraft, satisfactory, a little Baldur’s Gate 3, and ghostwire tokyo. I got about halfway into that. But I need to reinstall and finish. That and a little Luanti from time to time.

My brother said you can put emulators on it. I am guessing it may be not so legit to do so.
You won’t even have to mod it in the slightest. Retroarch is available in the Google Play Store. As are a lot of the other emulators
That’s neat, I probably won’t use it because I am not into retro gaming. It is fun to know that it has that functionality.

That’s exactly why I don’t play retro games. I have current games with fantast graphics. What games do you play, out of curiosity?
Lately I am playing Schedule I. V Rising, Helldivers II, and Green Hell.
