there’s a book out there titled “dying of whiteness” and it describes how white (mostly poor) americans chose to vote against their own interests (especially for healthcare) rather than see any out-group (especially minorities) get any support.

i think that all americans will be dying of whiteness fiscally rather than admit that china has surpassed the united states economically.

It’s a hard pill to swallow to be sure. Americans are taught that they’re exceptional, and the US is a shining city on the hill that all the world looks up to. Meanwhile, China is presented as some sort of a hellscape with a collapsing economy. I can see why accepting that this is an inversion of the real world is so difficult.

It’s worst than that; we’re taught that China is a dystopian, authoritarian hellhole and I think that our collective “common sense” is going to make us go to extensive, painful, and unreversible lengths to prevent that “hellhole” from becoming the world’s hegemon.

My only prayer is that if this leads to a damn near shitshow collapse that the West Coast will fulfill a break off from the US, the settler state culture of the US is it’s inevitable downfall (i.e. the boomerang of imperialism/fascism).

I agree this is true, but this seed takes centuries to bloom into a collapse since it can (and has) been delayed many times; as evidenced by the native American style extermination that’s happening in Gaza rn.

I fully expect there to be a nothing more than a chapter is some history book on the Gazan version of the trail-of-tears in the next 100 years or so as future Isrealis willfully remain ignorant of the atrocities committed in their name as Americans are in theirs.

I think we’re already nearing it’s sprouting, not blooming, and finally starting to take shape. The US has hollowed itself out cleanly and efficiently since the 1970s with this process expedited in the 1990s post soviet collapse. Isreal itself is showing it’s own hand as a example of this collapse by going full genocidal solution towards Gaza all the while the US plays tariff tag with China. All of these actions are done simply because there is no more looting left, there is only a final catabolic explosion as US oligarchy tries someway to continue endless growth with a already suppressed labor force with diminishing purchasing powers. In the end the US will have no final recourse but actual conflict with China, which will force the global networks of competing western capitalist states to choose on how they will interact with the US and China (this is nothing to say what BRICS will look like by then or the domestic stability of the US at home).

sprouting for sure and i think that there’s still plenty of looting left to do on latin america; the allied states in asia; and the vassal states in europe

I’m honestly wondering how well that looting can be done, it seems BRICS is likely going to inroad into a lot of Latin American countries wanting freedom outside the US sphere all the while the CIA doesn’t have the same people running it that had experience at regime changes (we’ve seen so many failures so far in the last decade). My feelings are that the vassal states will be heavily pressed upon similarly to Ukraine to the point of internal instability/failure all the while the US internally fractures as quality of life drops and COL rises even worse than before.
