You can’t taste the sarcasm in my comment? For real?

        Y’all are fucking dense.

Unfortunately there are too many people who dog whistle online. When they are called out, they claim they were sarcastic or trolling and “why can’t you take a joke?”. It can make many of us quite reactive to it.

Given how much of today’s political hell grew out of “jokes”, it’s akin to walking into a veteran’s PTSD support group and firing off a cap gun. There are grounds where it could be a funny prank, but it’s 100% on you to not cross the line.

Right hand to gay Jesus, I was literally coming into this thread to type out the exact same thing. Except my comment wouldn’t have had the italics or newline because according to my therapist I’m lazy and lack curiosity so I wouldn’t have spent the time or even had the inclination.

Two new lines to make a new paragraph.
Or two empty spaces and one “return” at the end of the previous line to make it just a new line, not a new paragraph.

        Good for poetry.
        Or song lyrics.

Italics, just get wrapped in asterisks, like *this*.

The reason I can type it out like this so you can see it is because I “escaped” the asterisk, by putting a backslash (\) before it.

That backslash in the last paragraph was placed between two back ticks, `like this`, to make it appear in a fixed-width font, like this. Good for code or CLI commands.
