It’s hard for me to justify illegal acts when the general populace voted for an continue to support this. Feel like I’m better off just abandoning the country. Feels hopeless.
As a Canadian, I support your use of violence to get your homeland back. As a Canadian, don’t come here if you decide to abandon. You are all tainted now.
The funny thing is we have a right to violence established in our founding documents but the only people who support that right are the people currently in control.

Did they though? Only 63.4% of voting eligible citizens voted in '24. And of those only 49.8% voted for trump. He has never won a majority of the popular vote. Ever. It’s due to the electoral college and the cap on representatives in the house. This gives a significant advantage to lower population states that typically lean republican. Those rules seemed to make sense before we could reasonably collect, count results, and communicate that info in a day. Those rules no longer make sense but as it benefits the republicans they will hold that hill until they die. This country would be shaped very differently if we used the popular vote.
I appreciate the nuance but also don’t particularly care for it. It’s far far too many people. People who didn’t show up could easily be characterized as apathetic, which isn’t much better.

hey just curious, do you want to annex any of the successor states if the US dissolves or do you just want to be friends

Yeah, people who can vote but don’t are implicitly voting for “whatever everyone else thinks.”
I wish I could leave but that takes money which I don’t have.
