After days of banging my head against a wall trying to figure out how to get rid of the constant stutter and frame spikes that make this game borderline unplayable, I finally made a breakthrough and wanted to share:
I switched to experimental and put the launch option “-notexturestreaming” and viola! I’m now hitting a buttery 80-90 fps on OLED very consistently with few and extremely minor dips. The only downside is noticeably longer load times as the textures are pre-loaded rather than streamed. Suppose you could cap to 60 or 45/40 for better battery life and set a TDP limit as well, but I’m usually near a charger and think this game really benefits from the OLEDs 90hz. Oh and yeah, it takes up quite a hit of storage, but I’m running it this smoothly off my SD card.
Settings are DX12, 1280x800 windowed borderless, vsync off, uncapped framerate. In advanced, low preset, change texture streaming to low, shadows low, ambient occlusion off.
Hope this helps somebody else!
