In a small Seattle suburb, a rape investigation sparks a war over speech and power.

    Trivia from a Seattle native:

Snoqualmie and immediate environs is where basically all of Twin Peaks was shot.

The ‘RR Diner’ is in North Bend, just a bit further east on I 90,

The ‘Great Northern’ is the Snoqualmie Falls Lodge.

    The waterfall is Snoqualmie Falls.

… I cringe at describing Snoqualmie as a ‘suburb of Seattle’.

Technically, sure, yes, you could live in Snoqualmie and commute to Seattle (enjoy your hour and a half commute both ways, if there are any serious accidents or stalls, inclement weather, or construction, one of which will be present 75 days out of 100) but its much more a very small town, way up in the mountains, not a giant maze of housing developments.

He’d submitted the kit to the Washington State Patrol Crime Laboratory in March 2019, according to the crime lab report. Lux began emailing Bruton as early as that July demanding answers and accusing police officers of lying to her. Bruton replied that the results could take anywhere from six to nine months on average to come back.

The article paints the picture that Lux was immediately hostile to investigators and had a pre-existing notion that those in authority were out to get her.

I doubt the investigation was perfect, as basically none are, but their effort seems reasonable.

Based on the scant details in the article Im not convinced this wasn’t a medical event, as there’s no solid evidence of an attacker.

Man, no one came out of that article looking good, including the victim. Just a terrible situation all around.
