Unusually aggressive lone star ticks, common in the south-east, are spreading to areas previously too cold for them

First world problem. Rest of the world is afraid that a tick bite will give them Lyme disease and the US is afraid it will make them allergic to burgers? And they expect everyone to feel bad for them?

Maybe a meat cessation drug can be derived from them. A meat Zyban.

before vegans get excited they can still generally eat chicken. for some reason they all want boneless chicken thighs (i work at a place that sells food). we can tell when it’s a “tick people” order

Hell of a layup for some sort of presumably christian group to claim this is god sending a plague on account of the crimes we do to animals but i’m sure they’ll all just squander this

It isn’t an allergy to all meat though… the meat from primates are safe for people with Alpha-gal Syndrome. Time to invest in monkey farms.

Meh more ticks here as well, the mosquitoes that transmit dengue fever are also here now. I love climate change 😀

They already do that by themselves. Long grass and cattle are perfect tick breeding ground
