One of the best special effects in that movie was just Vincent D’Onofrio acting.
TLJ also got some amazing moments in-between - the way he conveys so much with such a restraint is probably even more impressive than Vincent’s all guns blazing theatrics.
“Sugar water!”
M-m-MORE!
Legend has it he wasn’t even cast for the role. He just showed up on set and was after a drink so the crew ran with it
that’s our Vincent. He once played a villain in a throwaway movie - a drug dealer who did so much coke his nose fell off - and he plays that guy as if he was a Far Cry villain and it is majestic.
The Salton Sea
I recently rewatched it.
such a fun little movie in which Val Kilmer and Vincent D’Onofrio fucking kill it.
A brand new Edgar suit
and then in the animated series he played Edgar’s brother. Awesome show that deserves more love.
This guy’s career is insane.
Capital C Character Actor. He just gets it - the mannerisms, the speech, movement, even the way he looks changes from role to role so drastically.
Early on, he played a mechanic who a young girl thinks is Thor*. He’s got the build and the look to make her mistake seem reasonable. That same year he was Private Pyle in Full Metal Jacket.
