These were made soon after I learnt about Blåmba, a Blåhaj-themed provider of content for retro phones running on GSM networks at Chaos Computer Club’s events since 2023. There was a dire lack of Blåhaj among these 72x14 1bpp pictures (“operator logos”) you can use on the home screen instead of the name of your phone carrier.

This is a follow-up to the previous post (follow link for more details) although I drew these about a month earlier.

    Goddamn I love the typography of the CCC. I had a go at making it GIMP and it just looks so damn good

    Does anyone know what font this is?

    Also the Midi Wintergatan Marble Machine is pretty awesome

        You are correct, thank you! This also shows I wasn’t imagining the different “m” I used in “blamba.de”.

        Also, $42 for a font that a hacker group used widely (so it’s presumably Creative Commons)?

          Not CC, but it’s not uncommon for font authors to gift licenses to individuals/groups. Also FWIW thats fairly cheap for a font from such a popular foundry, you can easily pay 4 figures for a set of weights of their more popular fonts.

      Idk but they used to use the font a lot more in the 2000s. I can’t see it outside the homepage now but I found videos and magazine scans using it.
