  • The FIA also added a temperature limit to reduce this effect that I was mentioning. I just did some slight research on it, looks like when it was at its most effective in the 80’s, cars had a 195 litre tank, with fuel chilled to about -30c this allowed for an extra 10-12 litres, or about 6% increase.

This change was huge in that era of racing, basically meant that drivers could stay at 100% pace for longer without nursing fuel. Coincidentally, when doing some reading on this I also found that apparently chilled fuel during the refuelling era of F1 also helped increase the flow.

Anyway, that was my thinking originally lol, looks to be actually answered in the comments now though. Thanks for the reply!

  • Not the person you replied to, but…

I’ve been using Summit for the last couple of months, been fantastic absolutely no complaints, and would recommend to anyone.

But just this week I decided to try out both Thunder and Voyager again. Voyager I thought was fantastic, except for the insane image upload compression that I couldn’t find a way around. Thunder didn’t have this issue, but I could not get that UI into something I was happy with, and couldn’t find a way to turn off the feed headline thing which annoyed me.

Long story short, I went running back to Summit. I would recommend giving it a try if you haven’t already and curious about other apps.

EDIT: Other than the image upload problem on Voyager, both apps functioned perfectly fine, and I encountered no stability issues over this last week with both apps. Honestly, it’s just personal preference, give them all a try

  • That sounds like such a cool experience! I’m really not surprised you still remember that 20 years later!

I’ve always noticed this with MMOs in particular, that the most memorable moments are when we weren’t following an objective, or just doing another raid, they tend to be us players just goofing off and having fun with the world the devs built.

My most memorable WoW memory was when I participated in my guilds “Naked Fun Run”, which was a no gear, level 1 fun run from north Kalimdor all the way to the southern point. Seems like while we were off in Azeroth goofing around, plenty were doing the same in Middle Earth :)
