Yo [he/him]
I’m back with another instance I found: https://anarchy.chat/
Which is mentioned here: https://anarchyplanet.org/projects.html
I remember about half a month ago that I was working on a project and a little after I woke up I stared coding. I wrote a few stuff, might even stood up and walked a bit in the meantime. After some time, I looked up the time, about 2hours had passed and they felt like 15minutes…
During stressful or happy situations (or maybe for each situation that is intense or focus is required) I think my perception of time changes a lot, I get distracted and time seems to fly without me noticing, but I recognise that my mood affects my perception so I can somewhat “correct” my estimations.
Now I dont know if this fits, but I also notice that time seems to fly in general.😅 I can wake up and if I don’t follow a schedule, hours pass soo fast. Days pass fast as well.🤷 I kinda have accepted it and I just try to have a schedule to semi-follow so that I can at least do things before time flies away.
Yo, the amazing digital circus, it goes hard (the first episode was rather brutal💀)
Well, I ended up with 4d2 (the one in the post), which seems ok (they also have a lemmy instance, though only one seems active on lemmy). Their ToS don’t support piracy though, dunno if that’s a deal breaker for you. Btw I’m barely using matrix so I don’t think I’ve formed a proper opinion.
Matrix (the one I’m talking about here) is a federated communication protocol. It’s kinda like an alternative to IRC or discord if that helps. Like with activity pub, people can create servers and those servers can federate with each other. More info here: https://matrix.org/ (though as one commenter here said, it’s probably not the best platform to use)
Ughh, ok, I wasnt aware, thank you!
And yeah, probably not gonna use it for more than a few chatrooms for people or communities I can’t contact in any better way
Thanks again
capitalist nature of it
About an hour ago, I found out that element is maintained by a for-profit company, is that what you mean?
Also, hm, I see, kinda sad. I get that matrix isn’t the best, there are probably better alternatives (possibly Jami, briar etc. (and even signal now that you can hide your phone number?)), but I see that many people and communities use it, so I thought about making one account.
Thanks for the heads-up:)
I edited it to include the model I got.😄 So far it works, not sure how it will be performing in 4year.
About 4years ago, I decided to get a phone that I could modify (custom rom, root and such) and that had a proper camera. So I got a xiaomi mi 10, which has no audio jack (or even sd card reader…)
The default adapter lasted about 3years (I dont use wired earphones that often) and I decided to get a “proper” one from a ugreen brand (I found reviews that their previous model was bad and they had released a new better one) (it’s this one UGreen AV161
). It seems sturdy (it has that fiberglass sleeve too), hoping it will last.
It’s indeed bad that they dont put a headphone jack and I find it sad that fairphone dropped it too, cuz I’m thinking of buying a phone from them in the future. Not only it reduces the phone’s usability, but also indirectly forces you to buy wireless earphones. On top of that, using wired earphones puts extra wear on the single usb port (which I dont know how easy it is to replace it, I’ve only replaced a micro-usb port).
I dont exactly know where I’m going with this comment, but ok😅
If you want some lots of resources in a somewhat organised matter, here are a lot of bookmarks I have kept while I was learning nixos (I tend to update this):
https://codeberg.org/BlastboomStrice/LinuxPlan/src/branch/main/LinuxPlan.md#nixos-bookmarks
I tried simplex today and it’s very nice (I have signal for years and I tried to compare signal, briar, jami and simplex. Simplex turned out to be a very good solution. Though probably even fewer people use it compared to signal, so I might be alone for a while on that messenger.)
